Raspberry Pi Design Partner
ThinLinX is proud to announce that we have become a Raspberry Pi Design Partner. This recognition reflects years of work delivering high-performance thin client and digital signage solutions on Raspberry Pi hardware.
June 2025 — TLXOS 5.2.3 & 5.0.3 LTS, TMS 8.4.4
A major release nearly eight months in the making. We recommend TLXOS 5.2.3 for most users. Highlights include:
- Support for up to four displays in both Thin Client and Digital Signage modes
- Significantly improved digital signage performance and usability (images, video and web content per display)
- TMS 8.4.4 available for Windows, Debian/Ubuntu, Red Hat/CentOS, TLXOS RePC, and Raspberry Pi 3/4/5 (including 400, 500 and Compute Modules)
- No price increases for more than ten years — still the best value on the market
February 2025 — TMS 8.4.3 & tms_client 8.4.5
New TMS and matching client released. Install tms_client 8.4.5 on your devices via TMS (Device → Update → Upgrade TMS Client) to gain full benefit, including four-display support on suitable hardware. Tlxconfig is also updated to 8.4.5.
TMS runs on Windows, major Linux distributions, TLXOS RePC and a wide range of Raspberry Pi models.
February 2024 — Important TLXOS 5.x Upgrade Notes
You cannot upgrade directly from TLXOS 4.x to 5.x using TMS. You must first apply the bridging upgrade named “4.99.99”, or reinstall from a fresh TLXOS 5.x installer/SD card image.
TLXOS RPi 5.0.0 LTS does not support the Raspberry Pi 5 — use 5.2.x for Pi 5.
Key design changes in 5.x:
- Maintenance Mode no longer uses a separate partition/kernel; it is now an alternative userspace image on the enlarged /boot partition.
- Improved upgrade reliability and better use of disk space.
- TLXOS 5.2.x requires a minimum 4 GB disk/SD card (alternative available for old 2 GB x86 devices).
- 32-bit hardware support is deprecated; only the 5.0.x LTS line continues limited 32-bit support.
Ongoing
We continue to release hotfixes and feature updates for TLXOS and TMS. Full release notes for every version are available on the Help Desk and in the download mirrors.
